We have had our 72-bottle unit for four years now. Each time we talk about getting out a bottle we chuckle at the complexity of the discussion about which one to open. Is it for casual drinking, with the meal or after the meal? Should it be a white or red? Should it be a big red or a lighter one? Are we celebrating something or is it just an ordinary day? What food are we contemplating for this evening? We feel like a red. Whoops, we want to change our first idea of the wine for something else. This is the same as the previous topic, with a different slant. Here, the focus is on the variety of choices at any time. We have a wide-ranging wine interest. As a result, we always keep a wide variety of wines in our wine cooler.

Your Wines Will Be the Right Temperature – Always

Remember the wine temperature post? If you keep a variety of wines, some wanting lower temps, others higher temps, you will likely be opting for the 55° temperature setting. Depending upon your wine choice, you may want to warm up that red a bit to get to the proper drinking temperature – perhaps decant it, or you may have to put that bottle of white in an ice bucket for a few minutes to cool it a bit more, but you are always close to your preferred – and correct – temperature. This is certainly better than room temperature or right out of the refrigerator!

Actually, we have discovered another, very simple, solution to having our wine at the right temperature. We have acquired a single bottle wine chiller. When we remove a new red from the wine cooler, we pour the first glass, then place the bottle in the chiller, set at the correct temperature. We now experience the correct temperature from beginning to end.
