The movie starts with young Max and his uncle, Henry, at Henry’s chateau in France, over a game of chess with a glass of wine. Henry says to the boy:

Sunstone Vineyards Cave (Santa Ynez, CA)
“Max, have I ever told you why I enjoy making wine so much? …. I enjoy making wine because this sublime nectar is quite simply incapable of lying. Picked too early, picked too late, it matters not. The wine will always whisper into your mouth complete unabashed honesty every time you take a sip.”
There are a number of other very good lines, good acting, great scenery, and wine drinking – one undrinkable and another one a winner – making it a movie worth seeing.
Reading about the filming location is interesting. There is also a book, with a similar theme by the same name.
The story features the ideal wine cellar – underground. This environment is ideal, because the temperature remains at a consistent 50-55 degrees F, perfect for storing wine. You can have this same storage environment in a wooden wine cooler.
